The PSFF will take place in Ericeira, also regarded as the “Mecca” of Portuguese surfing.
This village and region has benefited from the quality of surf, surfing and wave riding sports. The coastal set up, mainly reef breaks, accommodates some of the best and consistent waves in Europe, if not the world.
The local community has grown, as well as the number of traveling surfers in search of adrenaline and perfect waves. This has influenced the creation of dozens of surf-camps and surf schools, inspiring the young with ocean sports.
World surfers consider Ericeira a Mecca of excellence. And in October 2011, Ericeira has been made a World Waves Reserve. This is the 1st in Europe and the 2nd in the world, right after Malibu in California.
With the council of Mafra an institutional sponsor, the PSFF will be shown at the Jaime Lobo e Silva Cultural Centre. This is a magnificent venue right at the centre of the village and the perfect place to host such an event.
